Banff National Park

Day Eleven – Banff National Park

Take a scenic drive through breathtaking mountain scenery on the famous Icefields Parkway which connects Jasper and Banff National Parks (300 km). There’s no rush and we stop at many viewpoints and waterfalls along the way, including Athabasca Glacier and Lake Louise. Two good hikes that day? Definitely great hike at Lake Louise up to the tea house – although really disgusting homemade lemonade – everything is homemade up there and the staff stay there for a week at a time with supplies air-lifted in?

Banff is Canada’s oldest national park. Its valleys and mountain chains were formed 75 million years ago and today present a veritable playground for outdoor enthusiasts. Take a gondola ride up Sulfur Mountain for a dip in its natural hot springs or explore Bow River Valley and its hoodoos on foot. There are many trails of different lengths allowing you to hike for as long as you wish.

Day Twelve – Banff National Park

The more adventurous in the group plus James went for a hike up a mountain – which one? We went for a more leisurely walk along the river with me trying to lead from info I had found online – all was going well and Banff town was easily in sight.
