Jasper National Park

Day Nine – Jasper National Park

Big fry up to get us started this morning then drive to Jasper National Park (125 km, approx 2 hrs).

The largest of Canada’s Rocky Mountain parks, Jasper is famous for its wildlife such as elk, moose, deer, coyotes, bears (including grizzlies) and mountain lions, as well as many smaller mammals and birds. Here you have the option of hiking up Whistlers Mountain, or taking a cruise on Maligne Lake. If you are looking to take it a bit easier, you can ride the Jasper Tramway or just relax and soak in Miette Hot Springs.

Optional Activities

Bike rental – CAD30
Jasper Tramway – CAD30
Day Ten – Jasper National Park

Bike ride through the Valley of the Five Lakes – all the elks/ mooses along the river – ride along the lakes – lovely until I hit a rock and managed to cut my nose – no longer so comfortable to wear sun glasses! – lunchtime picnic – others went off to explore more – glad me and xxx headed back on the bikes into town as apparently the bridge they tried to cross was closed and so they basically had to mountain climb with bikes! Spend the afternoon in town – found a gorgeous shoe shop!
